Free piston Stirling engine

Postby JohnR » Thu May 01, 2014 6:11 pm

I finally got this darn thing to work. I wanted to have an engine which is as close to fully 3D printed as possible, with minimal work otherwise. The only things that are needed for this engine are some brass hobby tubing, two 3" aluminum plates, a hole drilled in the middle of one (and two round key-ways filed into the plate), Three o-rings, some glue to seal everything together, and some magnets for weight. You could omit the o-rings and use some gasket maker instead.

For anyone interested, here is a video of it running.
