Hi All!
I am not sure how many community colleges have 3d printers, but here at Diablo Valley College we have 3 different printers now. Last week we got Type A Series 1 Printer online with the help of Miloh. Thank you for coming! We are very excited to use it.
This is a first print and I know ... I need to take time playing with slicing ... but the rush of making it was too high!
PS. I have to mention that 3d printing equipment was purchased with the funds provided by the Grant from National Science Foundation #1204981

Product Design Class (ENGIN-129, prof. J.Smith) learned Solids Works this semester. Students are participating in Brita Design Challenge.

Here is our biggest print so far! The platform even got stuck at the bottom. We started a new print after, but the motor would not lift it and was making worry sounds ... But when we hit Home button in OctoPrint, it went to regular position and we were able to start a new print with no problem.

It took 5.5 hours to print and we left it overnight to finish. The walls are quite thin and we did not speed up the printing on purpose.
