Series 1 Chassis Cable Clips

Postby CurtM » Sat Apr 13, 2013 8:00 pm

Today I installed a CCFL lighting system inside my Series 1 and needed a way to clean up the wires when I realized that the entire chassis of the Series 1 is basically a giant wire organization System. So I whipped up some cable clips to clean up the wiring for the Switch and CCFL tubes.

There's this amazing product called "glue" lol.

25 clips?! Might as well fill them with lead shot and add some weight to the thing.

Where's the fun in glueing a bunch of wires onto my printer, it'd look abhorrent! The clips are much cleaner :D

What about that LayWood. Make it look like burl wood or something.

I'm actually going to pick up some LayWood from Matterhackers next week to try that out as well as print a mini of the model I made for milling our new Fireplace mantle.

Hey Curt,

Whereabouts do you live? I'm in Aliso Viejo and buy filament from MatterHackers often.

I was wondering if that was you (went back to Reddit before I posted but names didn't match, so I figured it was a different person). Glad to see you are all up and running. Let us know how the Laywood goes, I've heard clogging is an issue on 0.35mm nozzles and I hate clogs.
