The standard Z limit switch adjustment screw pitch is 32 turns per inch or 0.03125" (0.79375 mm) per turn, this micrometer is 50 turns per inch or 0.0200" (0.508 mm) per turn with 50 markings per turn or 0.0004" (0.01016 mm) per marking. The markings provide an accurate reference compared to the standard unmarked plastic knob. A mount was made for the micrometer, an extension shaft was added and a mount was made that clamps to the moving cross frame for the limit switch. The micrometer remains where it is adjusted and doesn't drift from vibrations, I found this one on Ebay.
This shows the micrometer and extension shaft mounted to the printer.
This shows the microswitch and mount, The extension shaft was trimmed to size after this photo.
Here's a closeup of the markings.
