Introducing the Printer Sitter

Postby LaserGnomes » Thu Jan 31, 2013 11:42 pm

Ever noticed how your prints fail as SOON as you look away?

Us too.
In fact... we find in forums others claiming this very thing.

So we quick printed a bust of Bruce Willis (printing hair is hard) to watch our prints while we sleep.

Another perfect over night print.... GO WILLIS GO!!

Seriously would be interested in uploading just the shell of Bruce Willis if anyone was interested in the idol ideology.

It should be noted that I, Justin Kelly, hand modeled that Bruce Willis head from stills taken from the movie "Red".
What is great, and only viewable for those actually printing it... is that this model includes the ENTIRE scale jaw assembly including TEETH!. As it prints you can watch Bruce Willis take form like detailed an MRI scan including internal features.

This is ABSURD for 3d printing, however for animation... having a scale movable jaw really helps deform the overlaying skin naturally and accurately.

Check this video out for more understanding...

In proper RepRap form we used Willis to make Willis better.
