Actual print size??

Postby jarhead » Thu Sep 10, 2015 9:39 am

I'm told it's 10"x9" (x-y), but I have a piece that fits this size by putting it on an angle, yet Cura still says it doesn't fit.
What's the truth here??

The attachment shows a 10x9 square with the piece on a 39 degree angle fitting nicely.

Here's a screen capture from Cura.

I found the "machine settings" and the Series 1 Legacy populates at 230x230x260.
What is the actual print size?

The build size is 9" in XY and 10" tall (z).

This contradicts every bit of info found on this printer, including the manual itself which states X is 10.1", Y is 9.05" and Z is 9.45".

Are you from TAM? I find it hard to believe there are so many differences.

Yes, I work at Type A Machines in the Support department. The 2013 machine, however, predates my employment at the company, so any information I have is based on working with the machine, but not designing it.

From the documentation you're showing, you are correct, and I was mistaken.

I don't know where those specs came from, because they are inaccurate. I've been with the company since before it's inception.

All plywood machines have a build envelope as follows:

X: 260mm ("ten inches")
Y: 230mm ("nine inches")
Z: 230mm ("nine inches")

The metal-framed machines have a build envelope as follows:

All directional axes (XYZ): 305mm ("twelve inches", "cubic foot build volume")
