From what I've heard, they require that you reverse motor polarity (flip the motor connectors around 180 degrees) and maybe change something about the jumpers. More testing is ongoing.

yes moters flip 180 degrees or revers in marlin. Jampers don't change. All Work Perfect

Reporting back: the SilentStepStick drivers I got make the printer so quiet that not even my 2.5 year old recognized that the printer was running (if he had, he would have run over to it, yelling "print! print!")...so that is a very good test on how silent these stepper drivers really are!

I am now getting y-skips, so I need to see if one of the drivers maybe isn't working correctly, though.....

Has anyone seen issues with the TMC2100 / SilentStepStick drivers? I was getting Y-skips, but I could not pin it down....until I thought that maybe they were heat related....the IC on these boards is on the underside so after attaching a heatsink to the underside, as well as on the top side, and waiting until my garage cooled down from a hot day, I was able to get a good print. (all running at 1.14v)

The stock drivers were able to print in heat stronger than what I had today, so maybe these are more prone to issues when it is hot?

And on my second printer, I was also getting Y-skips after about 30 minutes without the heatsinks. On this second printer I also applied these:

(actually two of these on the tops of each driver)...and was able to get a good print, even in a warm garage. I would suggest trying these heatsinks if you get the SilentStepSticks.

automatic belt tension fix you problem. Printer can make skips if belt tension not good. Change Y parts fix vibration problems
