Whoa! It looks like sys is going to try to get rid of MB competition.I would be real nervous if i was a printer manufacturer using a Heated bed or enclosure right now, it sounds very general and i hope they dont really have a case..whats next slicers?

Patents in the suit are:

  • 5,653,925, Guessing it expires in Sept. 1995+20 = September 2015. Specifically, this calls out that the different fill settings infringe on this lawsuit. That's really icky.
  • 5,866,058, Guessing it expires May 1997+20 = May 2017. This relates to a heated print bed.
  • 6,004,124, thin walled, swaged extruder. Guessing it expires 1998+20 = 2018. The infringement is claimed on a thin-walled extruder with a heating block at the end.
  • 8,349,239 A patent on seam hiding. Doesn't expire until 2029! This is a seam hiding technique used by crossing the start and stop points so the extrusion doesn't start or stop on an exterior wall.
