Re: Smoothing PLA prints with MEK

Tried it and it didn't work. What works better is plexiglass glue from Tex plastics. But it's all nasty and I moved on to just hitting piece with heat gun. Go slow and you get a perfect shinning piece with no toxics

Re: I had an epiphany today while printing

I usually extrude some filament before I start a print then I have no problem. The printer homes with a hot head.

Re: Competition: Desktop Warfare!

Breaking out the catapult books. Been meaning to make one for years now I really have an incentive. This is going to be a great contest. I even see some real battles coming up. LG will take this to the extreme. THE CONTEST IS ON !!! Great prizes Espen. Will TAM be building one ? Not to enter but to ...

Re: Anyone up for a new Competition?

No this one will be a lot of fun and doesn't depend on a certain color filament. It's right down LG and Watson's alley. Okay Espen give us the rules. Everyone can have fun.......

Re: Anyone up for a new Competition?

The configuration object was designed to really test the Series 1 printer. So the following seems to be a standard for the test. 1. Same filament. If this means I have to buy a roll of TAM orange and send some out to those who don't have it. That's okay. Or we can decide on a color everyone has? 2. ...

Re: Anyone up for a new Competition?

You are right about different filament and photography producing different results. But we know these things and are trying to make a level playing fields. If we choose the config model and force people to print in TAM orange then we have a level field for color. The variable will only be your setti...

Re: Anyone up for a new Competition?

The categories look good but we need a Newbie category. Also have to define a Newbie. The calibration object I posted is suppose to take care of your item #3. Being able to print it perfectly means your printer is in TUNE? But if your having trouble it should show up in the printout. The catch is ho...

Re: Project - Series 1 Owners - KISSlicer Settings [OPEN]

Okay Espen released the config model. Lets see who can come up with the best KISSlicer settings for a full, 50% and 25% model. Having a standard that we can all work with is great. Slow and accurate works as a test but remember there is a contest and speed will be the winner. That means well lubrica...
