Re: Cura on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS - Stuck on splash screen

Hey there. I had the same problem. As I recall, if you start it up from the command line instead you will see it complains about some missing python libraries. I don't remember which exactly, but there is info on the web for the mainline Cura branch (https://ultimaker.com/en/community/21542-cura-21-...

Re: Print unsticking from glass build surface

I find that a brim of 5 lines or so helps a lot. Also, if you are willing to shell out a few dollars for more reliable prints, then buildtak is a very good product. I have had good success with it and think it is well worth the money in avoiding failures.

Re: Whas is fan really for?

Yes, but if you are printing PET+ then the fan is not necessary for the filament and is typically left off all the time, correct? Since I have converted to using the all aluminum Hexagon hotend mentioned elsewhere in this forum, I have just used the fan to continuously cool the hotend only with a cu...

Re: Direct Ethernet Connecion

I also was not able to configure the printer to work on my company's wireless network and had to go the route of a direct ethernet connection. It took a little trickery however since the printer is expecting to get an IP from the connection. In the end, I set up a DNS server (I am running Ubuntu 12....

Re: BuildTak is awesome

I forgot to also mention that I am printing with the PET+ filament (opaque white and transparent) and both have worked great on the surface.

BuildTak is awesome

Hi All, First, I do not work for the BuildTak guys and am not intentionally advertising for them. They sent me a sample to try with my new Series 1 which I have had now a couple weeks. After printing for a week or so using the glue-on-glass technique with mostly OK results but some issues, I decide ...

Re: Controlling Printer via SSH and Command Line

Thanks for the tips. I had thought of pronsole, but I guess I was wondering if there was anything to control it already installed on the machine (2014 Series 1). Sounds like the answer is no. I did find another alternative and that is to simply us a lighter weight browser. I have tried using a brows...

Controlling Printer via SSH and Command Line

I am wondering if there is a way to control the printer from the command line via an ssh connection. This is probably not commonly needed, but in my case my printer is at work and I have to log into through two different machines to get to it which makes forwarding back the browser window a little s...
