Re: Series 1 Pro Upgrade price and features

Matthew, I know you told me not to ask until they are on the website, but I've been patiently waiting for 2 months :) Is there any hope of me ordering a set of the Trinamic TMC2100s that are drop-in ready for my Series 1s? I really need to resolve the corduroy issue for production work. I can submit...

Re: Is there ANY remedy to the resonance issues causing the "corduroy" effect?

Thanks for the blog post Elijah, and for including high res pictures. Its interesting how some of the prints still have significant corduroy such as the hook print (main image). However, some of the other prints seem to have almost zero even on curved features. I do see the helmet print has some mec...

Re: Series 1 Pro Upgrade price and features

Just saw this thread and wanted to chime in. So, a little background is I purchased my first Series 1 almost exactly 3 years ago (serial #15!) so I'm one of the oldest customers. I've also purchased an additional 8 Series 1s since then (7 pylwood and 2 metal). I agree with the sentiment here that th...

Re: Stepper Driver Comparison for upgrade

Dropped the voltages on all 5 of my SSSs down to 0.95v and haven't had any skipping/overheating yet. Print quality is on point, and noise level is still super quiet. Just started a large print, and will report back on how it goes later. Hope this helps others experimenting with SilentStepSticks. Di...

Re: Is there ANY remedy to the resonance issues causing the "corduroy" effect?

Hi Elijah and Espen, I've always been your biggest fan and continue to use my nine Series 1 printers. I've been begging anyone at TAM to get a hold of some drop-in Trinamic drivers for my 2014s to address the corduroy issue (even emailed Espen asking if I could drop off the printers at your headquar...

Re: Plywood Hot End Replacement - Recommend?

I run Hexagon hot ends on most of my plywood machines. They work good for me, but also consider the E3D v6. I think either one is a drop-in replacement, but you do have to assemble them.

Re: Stepper Driver Comparison for upgrade

What's the time frame for being able to buy a drop-in set of these drivers for the 2014s? I'd love to see them in the Labs shop section soon! I've heard they should help with corduroy/ripples issues too. Here's another good option. We're looking into it as well. It is supposed to be very robust and ...

Re: Print not sticking to raft

Have you tried printing with a brim instead of a raft? I've never used a raft and have printed thousands of parts. Make sure your first layer temp is high and slow and adhesion should be better.

Re: Wavy first layer

I've seen this before on some of my prints. It generally happens when you have a very squished first layer along with poor bed adhesion. I'd recommend doing the following: 1) Increase first layer temp by 10-20C 2) Decrease first layer speed 3) Increase first layer height to 0.3-0.35mm. This will giv...
