Re: How to add custom filament profile to Cura 1.5.0

OK, it seems the start/end.gcode data is stored in the profile. So if I save the start.gcode changes then re-save the profile I can have those changes in the profile. But how can a user profile be automatically loaded at start up in Cura 1.5? It seems to restart with some generic PLA profile loaded ...

Re: How to add custom filament profile to Cura 1.5.0

Also, in Cura, how can start/end.gcode file changes be made permanent? I commented out the extruder purge code in start.gcode to save wear and tear on the BuildTak sheet. I saved the changes, but after rebooting the PC, those changes are gone. Real PITA to have to re-configure things like this and t...

How to add custom filament profile to Cura 1.5.0

I have some custom filament profiles that I use with Cura. I can save and load them manually by selecting the files from the Load/Save Profile dialog box just fine. However, the last loaded profile doesn't get reloaded when I first start Cura and also it doesn't show up in the Load Material Profile ...

Re: Plugins & Temperature Calibration

Sorry, it's been a while since I checked this forum. If I understand you correctly, you're asking what put in the normal extruder temperature setting. You should set it to the top temperature in the range you are testing. For example, for the Series 1 I do 240. This sets the M190 temperature (with ...

Re: BuildTak on the Series 1 Pro

Uploading some videos to YouTube on the FlexPlate system:

Takes a bit of dialing in to get the nozzle height right as extra thickness of material must expand a bit more than the glass build plate does.

Re: Removable build plate for TAM Series 1 PRO

So far I'm really liking the Buildtak Flexplate system. You can swap out build surfaces easily, just pick up a new 12" square steel plate for $35 and put whatever you want on it. I've only been using the white BuildTak sheet so far, but I may pick up a spare metal plate and try adhering some Ga...

Re: How is infill selected?

You set the infill spacing or distance. Then down at the bottom, in the grayed out info. section, it'll show you the infill percentage. At 3D/2mm I get 20% infill. I think that is based on an infill line @ 0.4mm, then the next one 2mm away, so 0.4/2 = 20%. 2D and 3D control the type of infill patter...

Re: BuildTak on the Series 1 Pro

BuildTak is still working well. I messed up my first sheet by accidentally overheating the bed. The 2nd sheet lasted a until just last week. It finally started to let loose and tear in a few spots. I took the plunge and picked up the new BuildTak Flex kit and just had a chance to get it installed to...

Cura 1.5 uniform scale button is hard to see

If I select Scale and click on the Uniform Scale button, it's very hard to tell uniform from non-uniform scaling. In uniform scaling, the outline of the button is full black, but in non-uniform, only a few pixels on the left side turn the background color so it's very hard to tell which mode Cura is...

Re: Extrusion woes

Might see if there is any increased drag off the filament spool when it's pulled out fast. I had some problems with my sealed filament box and after modifying the filament feed path, it's working fine now.
